Brand Keys’ 2010 Loyalty Index reveals two important victories for Apple. Thanks to the iPhone, Apple is first in the top of the researchers’ smartphone ranks, while unibody MacBooks helped it be first in the full-size notebook computer category, ahead of Dell and other Windows PC brands. Although Apple does not make a netbook effectively, it also got a position in this category, as MacBook Air was placed before the Booklet 3G of Nokia or the VAIO P and W netbooks from Sony.

The iPhone also influenced carrier loyalty, as AT&T, despite its well-known call quality problems, was also ranked first in the carrier loyalty section.

Only a few companies succeeded to win. Samsung was first as having the most widespread leadership. It tied for Acer in the netbooks section and either led or tied for the lead in LCD and plasma HDTVs. Canon tied in both the DSLR and compact camera sections.

As far as Microsoft is concerned, it got few wins but managed a tie in web searches through Bing, which tied with Google although it had less than a year of existence.
