As leaks of marketing materials show, Dell’s Mini 5 will intensively focus on Amazon services. The tablet will get special content deal and will get Kindle e-reader app and also a viewer for video services, apart from existing access to Amazon MP3. Video On Demand would be implied but also be new to Android.
Dell’s tablet is expected to be a more direct iPad competitor. The Mini 5 is much smaller and it will have a ready-made reader and preferred video and music stores that are usually absent on other tablet devices. Specifications of the tablet are confirmed by other details, including an own custom dock connector. They also reveal that Dell’s tablet will have multiple different colours for its back and custom patterns will be optional, probably through the Design Studio.
Mini 5 is most probably the final name of the tablet, while the Streak name has been mentioned in the recent past. Dell’s device was referred as the Streak at CES, but its name has been changed later on.
