MSI has launched the Wind U230 in the United States continuing the series of netbook launches. The U230 is a 12-inch system and uses for the first time the dual-core, 1.6GHz Athlon Neo X2 AMD processor in order to get better-than-usual performance for this size and price. The netbook sports Windows 7 full Home Premium edition unlike the Starter edition usually associated with netbooks.
The main addition apart from the new processor is Bluetooth. Other features are the 2GB of RAM, the Radeon HD 3200 graphics, a 1.3-megapixel web camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi and HDMI out port, which are common to the U210 and U230.
The base configuration costs $430 and includes a single-core 1.6GHz Athlon Neo and a hard drive with 250GB. The dual-core model has a price of $480 and includes a 320GB hard drive. Both models are in stock at Newegg.
