Two versions of Lenovo’s new IdeaPad Y460 have started shipping. Both are part of the company’s mid-range notebooks exclusively designed for home-use. The two versions offer Windows 7 Home Premium, 4GB of RAM (or up to 6GB), 14-inch screens and dual-layer DVD writers. The models also benefit from 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and a 1.3-megapixel integrated webcam as well.
The two versions differ in what performance is concerned. The standard model Y460, priced at $999, offers a 2.13GHz Core i3 CPU, Intel graphics and a 5,400RPM 320GB HDD. The second model, which has a price tag of $1,199, has a 2.4GHz Core i5, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 dedicated graphics and also a 500GB hard disk.
It seems that Lenovo is planning to develop a 15-inch model, called the Y560. Despite this, there have not been mentioned any details on the availability date or pricing.
