The gaming peripherals maker SteelSeries introduced the new 6Gv2 mechanical gaming keyboard and the 7H gaming headset at the German edition of the CeBIT show. The device has 18-karat gold-plated mechanical switches for a faster response time than conventional keyboards and also an improved durability. There is also a built-in buffer system that supports as many simultaneous key presses as the total number of keys of the device.

An anti-ghosting feature will allow gamers involved in shooter games to move, aim, fire and check the scoreboard simultaneously. As for traditional use, media controls are built into the device. The 6Gv2 has the same design as the flagship 7G keyboard, but lacks the audio ports, the pair of USB ports and also the removable plastic handrest to provide a lower price of entry.

SteelSeries also introduced the 7H gaming headset, which ships with two earcups and also includes noise-dampening leather and hear-through cloth. The high-end headset sports 2-inch drivers and chrome accents. The headset can be dismantled into four pieces including each of the earcups, the headband and the cord meant to provide easier portability while travelling. The braided cord has a built-in microphone and volume control and has a six-foot extension cord.

Both devices, the 6Gv2 and 7H, can be ordered before their release on Amazon at prices of $100 and $120 respectively. An USB version of the 7H headset with virtual 7.1 surround sound can be purchased for $150.
