Recently, in a Swedish publication interview, Bert Nordberg, Sony Ericsson’s President said that he has refused to build the Nexus One phone for Google. He claims that Sony Ericsson’s decision has been made because the company doesn’t want to be known as a subcontractor, but for making its own devices. If Google’s handset has been refused by Sony Ericsson, it has been produced by HTC, the Taiwanese company.
Nexus One is the top Android smartphone up to date; Google hasn’t mentioned HTC at all in the marketing campaign. The device, which is a business model, is sold, apparently, through the Google website. Sales have reached over 80,000 in only one month.
Sony Ericsson has not yet revealed any sales figures for its smartphones, like Satio and XPERIA X1. Despite this, the company can’t really compete in what sales are concerned with the Nexus One until this spring, when the XPERIA X10 family and the Vivaz line will be launched; these will probably be sold in significant numbers.
