Olympus SP-800UZ, with 30X zoom is now available

Olympus SP-800UZ, Olympus’ 14-megapixel digital camera, is now available for sale on Amazon. The new camera benefits from one of the longest integrated zoom lenses available on the market: the 30X zoom has optical image stabilization. With a 3-inch LCD screen, the SP-800UZ is capable of 720p HD video recording.

Amazon’s listing offers a better value than expected: it includes a free Olympus accessory kit (this means a second battery, a Sakar lens cleaning kit, Bower screen protectors, a Sakar mini tripod and a Zeikos card reader).

At the same time, the company presented Olympus SP-600UZ, which is equipped with a 15X lens, a 12-megapixel sensor and a 2.7-inch display (smaller than the SP-800UZ’s). This model is available for pre-sale on Amazon. It will be offered for sale under a $250 price tag, even if it doesn’t include any accessory kit.

Both the Olympus SP-800UZ and the SP-600UZ were previously expected to start shipping in March.
