According to a recent report, as the CeBIT show in Germany is really close, Archos will present two new Android-based tablets. The information seems to come from the maker’s German PR company. Several other minor details have been revealed by CarryPad and it also seems that the two devices will be dedicated to home use. Therefore, it is very possible that the devices will not benefit from any 3G connections, just Wi-Fi connection.
Archos 5 is the company’s already released Android tablet. Rumors say that the company is planning a European launch for a 7-inch Archos 7, based on an open-source operating system. Other rumors refer to a larger, 9-inch variant. Therefore, it may be these two the new tablets that Archos intends to reveal at the CeBIT show.
Several specifications for Archos 7 are already rumored; among these, we mention: an 8GB storage capacity, a microSD memory card slot and an 800×480 touchscreen. The device may also get an integrated webcam, as well as a kickstand (the package will be no more than 0.39 inches thick). The expected European release date is somewhere in March and Archos’ new tablet may be sold under a $240 price tag.
