At the Integrated Systems Europe show, the LG staff announced that the company’s 15-inch OLED TV will be brought to the USA somewhere by the middle of 2010. The TV, already available in Korea under the name of EL9500, is LG’s first OLED TV able to reach true HD resolution, peaking at 720p (1366×768). OLED TVs offer very high contrast, offering amazing image quality, as some say.
The set’s price available for the American market has not yet been revealed, but it will most probably follow Sony’s XEL-1 price. The earlier 11-inch set is priced at $2,500, but it already has two years old and should, therefore, have less production costs. Since then, LG, Sony and other manufacturers have developed lower-cost manufacturing procedures.
