According to the billboards advertising at the location of the Mobile World Congress show taking place in Barcelona, Samsung has decided to name its first promised Bada smartphone the Wave. The new handset is a flat-touch phone, with still unknown specifications. The company has not yet revealed any real specs of the Wave, but it is already known that the device will benefit from a full touchscreen interface.

Samsung’s new phone will be officially showed on February 14th, during the show. Some sources say that the Wave will get a 3.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, with a resolution of at least 800×480.

The custom-made platform for Samsung, Bada, will apparently be open-source, competing with Android and LiMo software. Bada means “ocean” in Korean, but only few specifics have been discussed with the public.
