A new line of LCD monitors has been recently released by BenQ, including the first one with a 10,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The line is called the “V” series and it is composed of nine models, with sizes ranging from 18.5 to 24.0 inches. The first models to come out are the V2200, with 21.5-inch diagonal, 1080p, 5ms response time and a 160-degree viewing angle. The company says that the TVs will have an extreme contrast and that they will be the slimmest available up to date, with only 0.59in (15mm) thickness.

The LCDs in this line will benefit from DVI and VGA connections. Some of them, though, will also have HDMI 1.3 and headphone jack or an anti-glare panel.

Displays within the V series will be able to adapt to room lighting conditions, also having five preset viewing modes. For example, the “Eco” mode will help reduce energy consumption.

The complete new series will be composed of four 21.5-inch displays, two of 18.5 inches and 24 inches and one of 23 inches. The manufacturer is planning to release the monitors in Taiwan, somewhere in February or March, except the 23-inch V2320 model. The V series monitors from BenQ will be available for the rest of the world in June, but the prices have not yet been mentioned.
