Information about Dell’s new version of Mini 10, with WiMAX has recently leaked through an FCC filing (PDF). This version of the netbook will benefit from Intel’s WiFi-Link 6250, gathering the 4G wireless connection, as well as the 802.11n Wi-Fi in the same chipset. There haven’t been mentioned any other major improvements, even if these two modifications are considered as being upgrades to the current Mini 10 version’s 3G and 802.11g.
There isn’t any specified release date yet, but the Us-oriented CTIA show could be the perfect opportunity, taking place somewhere in late March. The new version of the Mini 10 will most probably be shipped in the USA, counting as an alternative to Clear and Sprint 4G clients. It is still unknown if the netbook will be available directly through the carriers or directly through the manufacturer.
