Kingston has released the second generation of its SSDNow V+ solid-state drive that is faster than the current model and includes Windows 7 TRIM support. The device is available in higher capacities going up to 512GB. Sequential read speed of the drive is 230Mbps while sequential write speed is 180Mbps.
TRIM support refers to the fact that the drive can maintain this speed performance throughout its lifespan. The MLC NAND flash drive is rated at 1 million hours between successive failures.
The price for the SSDNow V+ with a 512GB capacity is $1,969. In case of a bundled version with a 2.5-inch USB enclosure, SATA data, mounting brackets from 2.5 inches up to 3.5 inches, power cables and cloning software, the supplementary price will be $15.
