Professional photo- and videographers can now enjoy the high-capacity CF card released by Silicon Power. Being the first of this kind, the card offers 128GB of memory and a 400× transfer speed. With a write speed rated at 90Mbps, the card is fast enough to record high definition video very efficiently.
The card offers support for PIO Mode-6 and Multi-Word DMA 4 transfer mode in a configuration with quad-channel, allowing faster overall transfer to the computer. It provides error correction as well as wear levelling technology to make the card’s lifespan longer over many successive writes and reads.
Silicon Power has also presented a smaller capacity CF card with a 600× transfer speed. Neither pricing information nor the launch date has been revealed for the new 128GB CF card. However, it is known that the CF car will also be available in smaller capacities, such as 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
