At the CES show in Las Vegas, Acer presented its upgraded version of Aspire notebooks. New processors are inside the AS5740 and AS7740 models with 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch displays. The model with the biggest performance is actually the smallest model; with Radeon HD 5650 designed for gaming and 2.26GHz core i5 processor. On the other hand the AS7740 is cheaper and has an Intel processor (2.13GHz Core i3) and an integrated video board that can also play HD and Blu-ray files.
The AS7740 comes with a Blu-ray drive while its smaller brother has only a DVD drive. Both systems have a 500GB hard-disks and 4GB of RAM memory. The new models will be released on the market on January 17th at a price of $750 for the high-end model and $600 for the other model.
