HP included the upgraded Pavilion Elite among its CES presentations. The Pavilion Elite High Performance Edition (HPE), in order to speed up, equips every model with a quad-core processor and minimum 8GB of RAM, as well as 1TB of disk space. A model that includes a 2.66GHz Core i7, 24GB of RAM and 2TB of storage is considered a high end configuration.
As usual, Hewlett Packard is very cautious about providing pricing information, but its range starts with a system configured with a 2.8GHz AMD Phenom II and Radeon HD 4350 for graphics. Other configurations include a 2.5GHz Core 2 Quad and a 3.2GHz Phenom II that can be upgraded to a GeForce GT220. The Core i7 version supports 9GB of RAM and takes advantage of its tri-channel memory. It also features a mid-range graphics GeForce GTX 260.
All the Pavilion Elite HPE models would be available before mid-January and include options like 802.11n Wi-Fi, Blu-ray, HP in-house removable hard drives and TV tuning.
