LaCinema Mini HD is a new media center set-top launched by the storage maker LaCie. It allows file transfer via USB or via 802.11n Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections. Users can alternately stream content directly from a Windows PC, a Mac or a network storage drive. Video content is displayed in 1,080-pixel via an HDMI cable. Various video formats, including AVC, DivX and MKV are supported. Photo browsing is supported, including slideshows accompanied by music, while regular music listening is enhanced with album art.
LaCinema Mini HD should be available in Europe and will begin shipping to other destinations over the world later this year.
