Recent job postings suggest that Logitech might be working to release an Android-based device. There is a post indicating that the Freemont, California office is seeking a “super-star engineer” to be employed as a developer for Android applications on an embedded Linux system. The engineer would work on a user interface meant for web-based streaming media.
The listing however does not provide many details of the product but the device is a project of the Digital Home Group in Logitech. The upcoming product is scheduled to be available on the market in less than one year, according to the offer.
Could be that they’ll be developing an app for Android to turn mobiles into remotes. I’d buy it. I’d love to be able to control 5/6k devices from my phone just like I do with my touch screen Logitech remote.
