MSI started the holiday week with the announcement of the launch of some new versions of the Atom-based desktops, running on Intel’s Pine Trail platform. The event will certainly take place at CES. The 18.5-inch Wind Top AP1920 seems to be the Taiwan designer’s thinnest all-in-one, being less than 1.4 inches deep. It will be available in several versions: with the new single-core or dual-core 1.66GHz Atom processors. This change offers a little speed boost and is expected to drop power consumption.
MSI also plans to add two new Wind Box models to its headless desktops. The smallest, DE220, will have the surface as big as a letter, allowing it to be mounted behind a display or on the wall. It is almost 7 times smaller than a traditional desktop, as the PC manufacturer states. DC500, which is a larger model, occupies over twice the physical space, but is especially designed to be put on a desk. Both will use the Atom processor, the same as the Wind Top.
More technical specifications will surely be available in early January, when CES will start.
