JVC has recently announced an upgrade fro the FX-500 wood grain earbuds, released two years ago: the HP-FX700 set. The new version of the earbuds offer a better sound quality thanks to its hybrid dual cone, which has a 104dB at 1mW peak output. The frequency response range is estimated at being between 6Hz and 26,000Hz at 16.
New, better features seem to be credited to the drivers, which are bigger (10mm instead of 8.5mm), being able to boost the mass of the earbuds by 2 grams to 9.6. JVC has been working hard to design the canal, in order to offer an efficient sound delivery inside the birch wood case.
Three silicon eartips are included in the HP-FX700 set, for a comfortable fit and a carrying case as well. The 2.6-foot long cord included benefits from a 2.3 foot extension. Sets are expected to ship in February, in Japan, for a price of around $320. It is also possible that the FX700 sets will be shipped in North America too.
