NEC has completed the NP series, a few days ago, with two new projectors, targeted to be used in conference rooms and classrooms not having enough space for contemporary projectors. The NP510WS is a widescreen projector, while the NP610S model uses a standard aspect ratio. They both have environmentally-friendly characteristics that are designed to expand the life of the projectors. The lamp can last for up to 5,000 hours thanks to an ECO Mode. Power consumption is kept low, as well as noise levels, at 29dB. The enhanced power management characteristic will act when no incoming signal is present from any input and will turn off the projector. It also provides quick start-up and shutdown.

Both projectors have the same Virtual Remote that allows users control the devices from a computer without needing additional cables. Remote adjustments and monitoring of the projector can be achieved when using the remote diagnostics feature. An integrated captioning system is present and automatic vertical keystone correction is meant to compensate for titled mounted surfaces. Both projectors share DVI-I video and VGA as well as the Ethernet port. A 7W speaker delivers quality sound.

NEC’s new projectors are expected to ship in January next year, the 510WS being priced at $949, while the NP610S will be found at a price of $999.
