On December the 16th, 2009, Microsoft has released its long-awaited native Twitter application for the Zune. The application offers a faster web alternative for the service and also refers to most of the core features, which include favorites and searches. Native geolocation facilities or official retweeting format, though, are not included.
The software seems to represent a major improvement in using Twitter through the built-in web browser from Zune, but is less more complex than the more famous dedicated applications for iPhone (Tweetie) or Android phones (Twidroid). These two have far more features and usually offer native web and photo viewers without actually leaving the main application. Despite this, Microsoft provides an intuitive interface and offers the application for free.
