Several details of Google’s Nexus One phone have been confirmed recently. They mainly refer to its interface. The Android 2.1 platform provides animated backgrounds and also 3D elements in the pull-out application tray. It also has more home screens and also a grid view of the pages resembling to the webOS card view present in the Pixi and Palm Pre.

While being an HTC-made hardware, the Google handset, as expected, comes preloaded with beta Google features like Goggles and Maps Navigation.

Little information is provided about the phone itself beyond what is already known. A series of FCC filings already confirmed that the device should support at least T-Mobile and several European carriers for 3G. The phone should support at least EDGE and GSM for AT&T and Wi-Fi for other networks.

As viewed in some photos, the phone does not have the HTC logo and has a guide pointing to google.com/phone/support (although inactive for the moment) and suggesting that Google would claim the phone as its own device. Some people believe that Google even directly designed the device. If this assertion proves to be true, it seems that Google is risking to challenge its partners to promote the Android operating system. The Nexus One might, for the beginning, avoid directly challenging Samsung, LG and other non-HTC partners by putting on sale only unlocked phones with a full price.
