T-Mobile considers the alternative of dropping a part of the special calling service HotSpot@Home, according to some sources. The company is disappointed with the fixed service that uses two SIM cards to set up a local network for phones and might give up to provide this feature soon. This option is due to the new T-Mobile’s new chief operational officer who says that the actual plan is not profitable.
However, this information does not mention the discontinuing of HotSpot Calling, which allow T-Mobile phones to make calls over Wi-Fi and then to bridge on to the GSM phone network when the caller is out of the reach of Wi-Fi coverage. For T-Mobile to leave this service is peculiar in the near future because it just added a version of the BlackBerry Bold 97700 last month that uses the theoretically less expensive Internet-supported service. T-Mobile did not, in any way, comment these rumours.
