Enhance Technology’s storage systems line has recently been expanded with the optional Ultrastar 2TB 7200RPM HDDs. Internal memory has been improved, reaching 16TB for the Enhance 8-disk desktop & rackmount storage arrays and 32TB, for the flagship 16-disk UltraStor Professional Storage Systems. This offers a total of 160TB storage space, using SAS storage expansion.
Users having JBOD and RAID systems will benefit from a 20% speed increase, if they use the new Hitachi HDDs, as the company stated.
The 16-disk UltraStor’s write speed has reached 702MB/sec, tested with the 2TB disks; it has also proved better energy economy. The prices for the new 2TB disks haven’t been made public yet.
