Acer’s Liquid smartphone currently shipping in the UK

Acer’s Liquid Android-based handset is now shipping in the United Kingdom, although slightly behind the initial schedule, retailers Clove and Expansys stocking the smartphone. The phone, running on Android 1.6, is only available in white for the time being.
Acer has chosen to underclock the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor to 768MHz while other handsets use it at full speed. However, Acer promises a relatively fast alternative. The Liquid smartphone includes a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with an 800×480-pixel resolution, a five-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi connection, GPS and HSDPA-based 3G access. The Liquid handset has a price equivalent to $540, including local taxes. A release for the United States has not been made public yet.
