Google unveiled Goggles feature would not be limited to Android devices only. Google’s Spokeswoman Katie Watson revealed that the company is developing the camera phone-based photo searching for the “most popular” phones and operating systems that seem to be the BlackBerry and the iPhone devices.
The Google representative did not point to a specific launch date of the Goggles feature, but it seems unlikely to equip other platforms before the software exits Google’s Labs stage and receives planned features and additional polish.
This expansion removes fears that some Google Maps features might be meant exclusively to Android devices. A similar scenario was used when providing a beta version of Google Maps Navigation only for Android 2.0 first, but spreading it to Android 1.6 afterwards. Google has already made public its intention of bringing Goggles to the iPhone and has said many times that the adoption of Internet services is important regardless of the platform.
